This math unit begins with introducing the fundamentals of Pythagorean triples and the application of the Pythagorean theorem to solve for missing hypotenuse lengths in triangles. As learners progress, they deepen their understanding by identifying sets of integer lengths that form Pythagorean triples and practicing calculations involving the theorem for missing sides as well as the hypotenuse in right triangles. These exercises strengthen skills in solving for unknowns using the properties of right triangles and similar triangles.
