What are the meanings of the less than, greater than, and equals signs?
🎙️
A good way to remember all of them is to think of a greedy alligator that wants to eat the bigger side. If the alligator is opening its mouth to the right, that means less than.
🎙️
We would use the less than sign if the first side, on the left, is less than the right side
🎙️
If the alligator is opening its mouth to the left, that means greater than. You can see that the actual symbols look just like the alligators.
🎙️
We would use a greater than sign if the first side, on the left, is greater than the right side
🎙️
If the alligator is pointing straight ahead and doesn't know which way to turn, that means equals
🎙️
Both sides are the same as, or equal to, each other.
