How many decimeters on the map would represent 400 decimeters in reality if the map has a 1 to 100 scale?

Map scales are a ratio. 1 to 100 is the same as the map measurement to 400

So if we rearrange and simplify, 400 decimeters in reality is 400 over 100, or 4 decimeters on the map.
