In this math unit, students begin by learning the basics of dividing decimals by whole numbers, especially focusing on hundredths and simple fractions. It further expands to include problems involving dividing by negative powers of ten and representing divisions as fractions with powers of ten. Towards the end, students are taught how to manipulate and simplify expressions involving powers of ten, whether dealing with decimal or whole number quantities.
