What is the chance, or probability, of drawing a yellow triangle from this bag of shapes?

Probability is the number of outcomes we want, or desired outcomes, divided by the total possible number of outcomes.

We can see that there are 2 ways to draw a yellow triangle, and there are 8 total ways to draw a shape, so our probability is 2 over 8

This simplifies to a probability of 1 over 4

We can also express this as a decimal, zero point two five, or as a percent, 25 percent, if we want.
